PLATTSBURGH, NY – The Plattsburgh RedBirds defeated the New York Bucks by a score of 11-3 today in which the RedBirds capitalized in many Bucks mistakes.
Although the numbers didnt show it, The Bucks starter Phil Reese pitched a very good game despite giving up 5 runs in which only 3 were earned. Reese struck out 4 batters and was forced to make extra pitches due to many Bucks mental mistakes.
RedBirds took full advantage of those mistakes as Raul Shah and Michael Deeb continue driving in runs for the RedBirds in clutch situations. Valentin, Shah, Deeb and Fowler all had 2 hits each of the 14 total team hits.
Matt Martinez led the offensive attack for the Bucks as he had 3 hits including a double and an RBI. Zach Ashford also had a good day with 2 hits of his own with an RBI.
Adam Koutz tossed yet another win going 6 total innings allowing just 3 runs and striking out 2 Bucks. He was credited with the win while Phil Reese was handed the loss.
The two teams will face off again tomorrow at 4:30pm at Chip Cummings field for game 4 of the series.
